The University of Virginia played at Indiana University last night. After building a 20 point lead the young Wahoos imploded with turnovers that lead to immediate points for the Hoosiers. Panic would have been the normal reaction in this situation, however, the young Cavaliers remained patient and calm. Down by 8 points with 5:45 left in the game, they drove 77 yards in 15 plays to draw within 2. They then converted the 2 point play on a beautiful pass by Rocco to even the score at 31.
This set the stage for the play of the game by Senior defensive end Cam Johnson. On third and five he came free and leveled the Hoosier quarterback while stripping the ball from him at the same time. This play was worth of ESPN's top 10 play of the day, but because it was the team in orange and blue and not orange and maroon, ESPN didn't air it. No accounting for taste and we won't have room for them on our bandwagon after we take the reins of the State!
Robert Randolph kicked the game winning field goal as time expired securing the 34 to 31 win. It was a wonderful comeback, a true building block win that showed this young team's character. Coach London will impress upon the young squad that they must limit their mistakes but I fully believe they will learn and move forward. Bring on UNC!!
I am really looking forward to tonight's game between the Jets and Cowboys. It will be a very emotional night in NYC and I expect the patriotism and passion to be on full display tonight. The game should be outstanding, but the show of strength and national pride will far overshadow the contest. USA...you can't beat us, you can't beat us, and you never will!!!

US Open, opening night in the NFL, and College Football week 2
Love the US Open!! Can't beat good hard court tennis in Flushing New York! Great crowds, great passion, wonderful television! It's a shame we don't have more outstanding US players...Where have you gone Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, and Pete what's his name!
Lambeau field is the perfect setting for opening night of the NFL season. Historic, pristine, and as a bonus they are my wife's favorite team. Hmm...tonight I'll be pulling for the home team, not because I want them to win, I want my fantasy team to win...DUH!!!
Week 2 for the young Virginia Cavaliers brings their first road test against Indiana University. The Hoosiers are young as well and have a first year head coach. I'm hoping for a very spirited contest. I'd like to see the HOOS squeak out a tough road win and I'd be thrilled with a double digit victory. Let's hope that Coach London doesn't pull a GROH!!
